Satellite Imagery of Fine Particulate Matter (PM2.5)

Fine Particulate Matter (of size less than 2.5 micrometer) has been recognized by the World Health Organization as the most harmful pollutant present in ambient air. Satellite data are processed on daily basis to estimate the average concentration of Fine Particulate Matter over the UAE.
Images are generated from satellite data obtained from the MODIS Terra & Aqua Space sensors and are distributed by NASA (USA). Darker color represent high concentration of PM2.5 and it is also associated to frequent events of blowing dust over the UAE.
